Casey James is a life-long Ohioan who enlisted in the United States Army as an Infantryman at the age of 19. After airborne school he was stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. In April 2007 Casey deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom where he completed an 18 month tour of duty. After completing 4 years in the Army he was honorably discharged.
Upon discharge he was hired at the Butler County Veterans Service Commission in 2010 where he served in the following roles, Veterans Benefit Coordinator and Service Officer. He departed the Veterans Service Commission in January of 2013 to go work in the Research Department at the Cincinnati Ohio VA Medical Center. He returned to this agency in August of 2015 in the capacity of Service Officer where he obtained his certification through the Ohio Department of Veterans Services (ODVS) and National Association of County Veterans Service Officers (NACVSO). He serves as a trainer/instructor for all new Service Officers throughout the entire state of Ohio through the Ohio State Association for County Veterans Service Officers (OSACVSO).
His dedication, love, and willingness to serve veterans are his life's passions. Casey is married to his wife Lizzi and have a son named Braxton together. Casey’s mission statement in life is and always will be “Small things, done with great love, will change the world”.
